Visual Rhetoric: Framing

I found a political ad from 2004 that talks about how John Kerry is opposed of vital weapons in order to win the war in Iraq. Framing in this commercial is very important because the photographer wants to put in frame as many vital weapons that will be missing if John Kerry was president. That helps that argument because when people see all these vital weapons in a frame people begin to feel that the army will be missing the necessities to get the job done in Iraq.

Visual Argument

Here is a picture that has a chunk of land labeled the world and it being held on by the word minds. The idea of this visual argument is to say that the world is being polluted and it can not take too much more damage. The audience might see that the world is relying on people's minds, in a sense that they will make the good decisions about pollution. I also think that it addresses to the audience that decisions in the world need to be thought out carefully because one wrong decision could have bad results for the whole world.

Chris as a writer

It makes me laugh when I try to think myself as a writer. I have always disliked English and therefore try to stay away from writing altogether. I probably have had more struggles in writing then successes and though I try my best I aways end up doing poorly most of the time, which I blame myself for lacking the motivation get better and practice my writing skills more often. This is why I made a goal to work harder and more often on writing so hopefully I could become better. I believe that some of my strengths in my writings are the creativeness that show. But my weaknesses over shadows my strengths therefore making me feel that I am a terrible writer. But whenever I do decide to write, my process involves getting into a quite place so i won't be distracted and then it seems to be a little easier to write. I first plan out a brief outline in my mind to help me focus on the points that I want to get across in the paper. I feel that I can be a better writer than I am and this is what motivates me for the future.
